Hi, I’m Jacob 👋
What I Do
I’m a recent graduate with a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Kentucky currently working as a freelance Software Engineer. I enjoy a broad range of topics, but mainly, I work in web development and managing UNIX-like systems, though I also enjoy math and Leetcode problems.
Why I Write
This blog is where I document the interesting problems I solve and the lessons I learn along the way. Whether it’s building a Minecraft mod updater, writing Klipper scripts, or designing small automation systems, I write about the technical details and gotchas that might help other developers.
Highlighted Projects
- Automated Minecraft Server Management: Building tools to automatically update and manage modded Minecraft servers
- AI Playground: Various AI/ML Python scripts, sometimes from scratch, sometimes using Keras, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
- My NixOS Homelab: Managing all of my machines through NixOS Flakes + git
- 3D Printer Homelab: Building hardware & software for multiple custom 3D printers
- AI Recipe Suggester: Uses OpenAI’s API to suggest recipes using ingredients found in a photo, using a custom img2txt model to determine which ingredients there are
